I can"t recall the name , but a woman organist was employed by the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbets Field. This was commencing in the twenties. I believe she may have been a retired Opera or concert singer and also held the record- possibly eclipsed by Robert Merrill- of most continuous singings of the National Anthem. Anthem sing only became standard in l942 ( Call to Arms!) If you really analyze things, it is unnecessary- Baseball is not a war-like activity and normally Diamond Dust does not involve politics.
