In actuality, the longest running rivalry in College Basketball dates back more than 100 years and is between two New York City Schools. The reason it is little known is because neither school competes in what might be referred to as major College Sports.
The rivalry between Pratt Institute and Cooper Union based in Brooklyn and Greenwich Village respectively dates to the late 1800's and pre-dates the existence of basketball programs at both Minnesota and Wisconsin.
