In netball, marking refers to the defensive strategy where a player guards an opponent closely to prevent them from receiving a pass or taking a shot. The goal of marking is to disrupt the opponent's offensive plays and force turnovers. Effective marking requires good positioning, footwork, and anticipation to anticipate the opponent's moves and react quickly.
