It's called a dig.
It is called a serve receive.
Serving Digging / receiving Setting Spiking
backcourt? when you play in the back of the court when your in serve recieve you know... theyre serving, your receiving...
Receiving in volleyball means that the opponent is severing and you are going to receive the ball.
to bump set and spike it back to the opposite team ,kill the ball.
Receiving means to have the ball served to you (the start of the whole play).
My volleyball team always says "service!" and when we r receiving the ball we'll call our seems "my seem your seem" repeatedly while pointing to our seems and their seems. Your seem is always to your left.
The serving team automaticlly gets one point
You receive a serve when the opposing team is serving and when the ball is served over the net, you get the first pass/set of that point.
Add out is a term that was used before in scoring meaning that the receiving team had to win the rally to get serve, then they could start scoring points. While the opposing team is serving, the receiving team is in add out. This method of scoring isn't used anymore in rec leagues, high school, or college volleyball. It changed simply because the games were taking entirely too long.
