A volleyball can be served in many different ways.(IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER)1. Standing Float Serve2. Jump Float Serve3. Standing Topspin Serve4. Jump Topspin Serve5. Underarm Serve6. "Skyball" Serve (Only used in Beach Volleyball)
You might be thinking of the 6 service zones. (your side) 1 - back right 2 - front right 3 - front middle 4 - front left 5 - back left 6 - back middle In upper level volleyball there can be around 30-40 serving zones the main types of serves are: Float serve Jump serve Jump float Long serve (distance standing from service line not distance served)
jump serve or topspin serve
You can hit i volleyball by bumping it, serving it, spiking it, jump serving, roll shot, roll serve, and jump roll
over hand jumps serve jump floater underhand
underhand, overhand, and jump serve
The best types of serves are either a jump float or a jump serve.
There are a few types of serves in volleyball and depending on your age, strength and talent, you may use all of them. The most basic serve is an underhand serve, the next step up from that is a overhand serve, than there is a jump serve, which you do your approach and jump and serve tha ball over the net, another serve is a floater serve and this can be served from the ground or as a jump serve and a floaters serves makes the ball float over the net. Another serve is banna split, which the ball is tossed spining to the side and when you serve it, the palm of your hand slices the ball and it will turn clockwise and go straight down on the other side of the net. These are the most common serves, but there are differents ways to do these types of serves.
A float serve is a serve with very little spin (preferably no spin) that moves much more than a top spin serve. It is performed by striking the ball with a flat palm and "paintbrushing" (not snapping your wrist).
It's in volleyball where instead of just standing and serving you do an approach, throw up the ball and serve it. Hope i helped:)
Well I guess there are three general types of serves in volleyball,Floater (the ball doesnt really spin much, it can float across the court, common)Top Spin (the ball spins very fast forward, common)Side spin (the ball spins sideways, not very common)But there is also these three types, Jump serve (a very powerful serve, has several advantages like, power, intimidation, and getting the ball to the court faster (since your jumping the ball doesnt have to go up and across, just across))Standing overhand serve (a standard serve, you will see this most)Underhand serve (used in lower levels of volleyball, not an effective/strong serve at all, it's never used in highschool/college)
You can only set a serve if the serve is over your shoulders, and is a high float serve. Trying to set a hard or t op spin serve will only cause you to hurt or even break your fingers. You will also most likely miss it and lose the point.. your welcome(:
