A situation in which there is a foul by both teams at approximately the same time, but the fouls are not committed by opponents against each other.
Case Play: A1 has the possession of the ball in his/her frontcourt
and A1 goes up for a try to score. While he/she was airbourne,
B5 initiated a contact and fouled A1. The try was successful but
when A1 came back down, he/she committed a player control foul
on B3 which cancelled the basket. A1 does receive two free throw
for B5's foul. This is an example of a False Double Foul.
It's usually double "technical foul," meaning two players are showing unsportsmanship to each other. For example, Paul Pierce might shove Chris Bosh because he blocked his guranteed shot or something. You wil find many great videos from YouTube. Just type in "double technical." Hope this helped.
A double Technical foul in College Basketball is when a player either gets two technicals at a time or a player and another person on the team (either coach or player) gets a technical at the same time. The opposing team gets to shoot 4 consecutive shots and gets the ball back.
