I think that the people in the team that is serving will decide who is going to serve. I think that you just start with the team who wants to serve first.... (plz correct me if I am wrong!!!!)
youre incorrect :) i play varsity and it is decided by a coin flip...The coaches choose two captains and they and the captains of the other team flip a coin and whoever wins the coin toss decides if they want the serve or if they want to give it to the opposing team...
The two team members either flip a coin or do rock paper sciccors to determine who will serve first.
a serve
Something that starts a game
A serve.
yes
Volleyball starts after the team captains have done a heads/tails to see who serves first, then after the heads and tails, the team who guessed the correct side gets to serve the ball first. Then the game goes on from there.
in 1896
No.. Its a coin toss or however the ref wants to do it. Which ever team gets the toss, gets to serve first.
When you serve the ball over the net to allow the game to begin, first (to do an over-head serve) you would "toss" the ball in the air to give your hand time to smack/hit the ball.
In 1896, the first official game of Volleyball was played at Springfield College. Read more about it at this link: http://ezinearticles.com/?What-Started-It-All---The-History-of-Volleyball&id=25104
