Despite the fact that the integrity of the composite stick can be compromised with even minor nicks and cuts, most players choose them over wood because of their light weight and superior amount of flexibility the sticks provide which allows for greatly enhanced puck action. Composite sticks are also much more expensive.
Some players get a better feel for the puck
also if you take alot of snapshots and slapshots the sticks kick point will be where your lower hand is placed which will result in a more accurate shot, personally i find you can get more power out of a good wooden stick, I recommend a sherwood pmp 9500 if youre looking around
These kinds of sticks are made of composite and are harder to break than wooden sticks. They are the best kind of stick for an advanced player.
It all depends on the stick that you buy. There are wooden sticks and composite sticks. The Wooden sticks are much heavier than composite sticks so most goalies prefer composite. Usually the Composite sticks are about 600 to 700 grams.

Most of the benefits are associated with the weight; they are more stable when trapping or deflecting a ball, and the hit may or not be harder with a wooden stick (as compared to a composite or woodcore). However, this part is much a matter of taste and personal opinion. Additionally, they are often quite cheaper than other types, and thus good for a beginner or younger player. If possible, try out several of both types and see what you like better.
It really doesn't make a difference (except that wood sticks tend to be heavier and you also get more flex in a composite stick). It is mostly your preference.
