There aren't really that many risks in volleyball. The only things you should be careful about is: * Colliding with another player * Pay attention so you don't get hit in the face * If you are out of shape, BE CAREFUL volleyball is challenging but it's really fun too. One of my teammates has Asthma and she almost passed out at practice because she was out of shape.

People could make volleyball safer in the future by adding extra padding to the knee pads. They could also make it safer by making a softer material for the volleyball. They could also make volleyball safer by lowing the net. People could make volleyball safer in the future by adding extra padding to the knee pads. You always need knee pads, leg wraps would be beneificial but not necessary and there really is no other equipment. For safety you should be careful what kind of a floor you play on and bandaging leg burns.

The most widespread injury is the sprained ankle, usually after coming down awkwardly from a jump, sometimes landing on another player's foot. After this, knee pains are common, especially with players who jump high, and older players. Shoulder problems are the main issue for big hitters. This is due to build up of scar tissue, and lack of rest to allow shoulder muscles to repair. Achilles tendons can also be vulnerable, especially with "weekend warriors", and tears or even ruptures are not unknown. For social volleyball players, excess alcohol consumption often leads to brain damage. This is pronounced amongst beach volleyballers.

Most common are knee and ankle injuries. Blew out my knee last year in a tournament. Still have to wear a knee brace today. Ankle braces can prevent ankle injuries.
