Baseball and Softball are essentially the same thing. Except one is played with a larger, softer ball. There are many different rules*, but it essentially is the same thing. -Brett *I believe

They are practically the same. I've played both, the only difference is the pitching, the size of the ball, the size of the bats, and if you are playing for leagues or school then boys play baseball and girls play softball.
They both use sticks to hit small objects.

There are several key differences between softball and baseball regulations. The first difference is that there are different pitching rules. In baseball the ball is pitched overhand and in softball the ball is pitched underhand. There is also different sizes for balls, softballs are bigger than baseballs. There is also different rules in leading. For softball you can only leave the base once the ball leaves the pitchers hand, in baseball you are allowed to leave the base prior to the pitcher releasing the ball. Another difference is that in baseball bases are 90 feet apart, and in softball they are 60 feet apart.
yes, there are no rules/regulations for pitching in softball. that's just baseball.
They have almost everything in common. The only differences are: A softball is bigger, but it isn't as hard as a baseball. Softball games are usually six or seven innings. Unlike the American League in pro baseball, there are no designated hitters in softball.
They both pretty much do the same thing except for in softball you can pitch with a full circle arm or an underhand throw but in girls baseball you can only throw under hand. Most of the time girls don't play baseball more than likely almost all girls that play a type of baseball play softball.
An official baseball is 5 oz. and an Official Softball is 6.8oz.
softball
Baseball is not called softball. The game of softball is called softball because the ball used is softer than a baseball.
