A 3 or a three pointer is a type of shot that is taken from various places from around the three-point line.

If you get the shot, then 3 points is awarded to your team.

However, you must not step inside the three point line whilst shooting or else it will only be counted as a two pointer.

If you are shooting a three-pointer and you are fouled in the process, instead of receiving a two shot penalty, you receive a three shot penalty.

There are 2 half circles on each side called the 3-point line where you shoot and make 3 points. there is a circle and then a smaller circle in that one in the middle of the court. that is there because at the beginning of each game 2 players will jump for the ball in the small circle and the everybody else has to stay on the outside of the bigger circle.
