A shot behind the three-point line will result in three points to the offensive team. a shot/lay-up/dunk inside the three-point line will result in two points to the offensive team. if a player gets a "free throw" then each free throw is worth one point to the offensive team.

every goal from the 3 point line inwards (towards the hoop) is worth 2 points every goal outside the 3 point line is obviously worth 3 points. and when you get free shots (or foul shot) you are given 1 or 2 chances to shoot a goal worth 1 point the amount of chances you get depends on the foul inflicted on the player and the severity. you only get a foul shot if you are fouled WHILE shooting. hope that's helpful
