Until Game 12 of the 2009 season, Vanderjagt held the NFL record for career field goal accuracy at 86.47%.

By making 3 of 3 field goals against the Browns in the 12th game of the 2009 season, Nate Kaeding of the San Diego Chargers surpassed Vanderjagt and now has a career field goal accuracy of 86.67%.

Since the two are so close, Vanderjagt would regain the record if Kaeding misses a field goal or two in the upcoming games. Also, Robbie Gould of the Chicago Bears is close behind the two at 85.91 career accuracy.
