What are the different between beach volleyball and indoor volleyball?
There is actually a difference between the 2 balls. Outdoor ball pressure is 2.5-3.2psi. Indoor balls are much harder at 4.3-4.6psi. In other words a Beach volleyball is lighter then a indoor volleyball

Yes, Beach Volleyball is always played on a beach or a sand court, whereas Indoor Volleyball must always be played inside on a floor. But they both have the same rules in Volleyball it's just the court that is different. In terms of difficulty, a Beach court is much more harder than a indoor court. It is harder on a Beach court because the sand weighs you down when you are running and jumping, and the wind plays a very big role when it comes to playing Beach Volleyball. Whereas Indoor Volleyball is safe from the elements and the floor is solid so you can run easily and jump higher than on a Beach court.

Beach volleyball and indoor volleyball are two completely different sports. In sand volleyball, the ball is not his nearly as hard as it would be if the players were on a court. For this reason, the ball doesn't go as fast and there is no need for six players to be on a sand court. Sand court only requires two players on each side of the net where as indoor volleyball needs six. The only similarities really, are that there is a ball, a net, and the same basic rules (aside from setting). In sand volleyball, if a set is spinning, even a little, you will get called on it, where as court is a little more lenient. So altogether, these two sports are assumed to be the same, but in reality, are completely different.

Beach Volleyball is sometimes referred to as the Sand game. This is now an Olympic sport played by two teams of two players on sand court divided by a net. The basic rules are the same as in indoor volleyball.

Outdoor sand/beach is most commonly played. Most club beach volleyball teams consist of you and one other player or partner. So you play two on two. The rules are mostly the same for indoor and outdoor volleyball some examples are you cant cross over the service line before making contact with the ball, you can't touch the net, if the ball hits outside the court with no other contact from the other team then it's out. Some difference between the two are you can't open hand tip, you can double on first contact if it a hard hit, if you set the ball it can only make 1full rotation or else its the other teams point and considered a double (some refs will be more or less lenient) also in some tournaments the refs are other players in your age group. Beach volleyball most people were swim suit bottoms and a sports bra or bikini instead of a jersey, spandex. Also you DO NOT where shoes or knee pads. Beach volleyball is also A LOT more lenient on jewelry like you can where anything really. Outdoor Beach volleyball is a lot of fun but also very challenging, with the hot practices + walking in sand + more court to cover since it just two of you, it is only for some people. If you mean two hits in a row then no they cannot hit it twice, but if the receiver hits to the setter and the setter messes up or they hit it to the same person that just received it then it's ok if they hit it again

Men and women use the same volleyball equipment like the nets and the poles however if you are talking about gear lots of guys do not wear knee pads and the height for the net is different and sometimes in club volleyball the balls are different weights.
