However, in 2004 when they were in Greece, baseball was a sport there. Furthermore, the Greeks had a team, as the host country they were entitled to that right. However, since baseball is not popular in Greece, the IOC ruled that anyone who had a parent or grandparent who was a Greek citizen could play for the Greeks, thus allowing players such as Clay Bellinger to play for the Greek National team.
