Currently there are no offside rules in Field Hockey; except for the 5m distance required of an opponent at a free hit, or that all players must be in their own half for a centrepass.
There is no except, there is no off side. The distance that opponents and sometimes your own players, have to be from a free hit, side line hit or corner hit has nothing to do with 'off side'
yes. the ice is broken down into 3 equal parts. offensive zone, defensie zone, and neutral zone. the neutral zone will always be the middle park of the ice that is encompassed by the blue lines. the offensive and defensive zones wilol change as teams shoot different ways. the side your goalie is on is your defensie zone from your goalie to the same side blue line. the offensive zone is the opposing teams goalie to the nearest blue line. offsides occurs when a player from the team on the offensive crosses the blueline of the offesive zone before the puck does. the puck must cross the offensive zone blue line before any of the team trying to score players do otherwise offsides will ensue. sorry for such a long intro to the answer, i was on a roll lol - masta v
Yes in novice hockey there are offsides calls.

I think they take care of offsides, icing, and the face-off.
Offsides, resulting in a face off taking place outside of the previous attack zone.
No usually, they have the basic stuff, like offsides and all, but since the men tend to be more aggressive the women have fewer rules on things like bodychecks and tripping.
The offside rule is used in winter sports such as American football and ice hockey.
You are not offside. The puck must enter the offensive zone for offsides to be called. Further, a player's skates can enter the offensive zone before the puck, provided the player is in control of the puck and no other offsides conditions are in effect.
you don't score a hit in hockey
A bad tackle, offsides, penalties, dissing the ref, handball, exesive celebrations, and saying Barcelona is Breyer than Madrid
There are 412 dints in an official hockey ball according to the field hockey rule book.
Offsides - 1994 was released on: USA: 8 January 1994
Without the offsides rule defenders could bomb the ball all the way across the field, pass the other teams defenders. Then a forward or striker could easily tap the ball right pass the keeper for a easy goal. This strategy would be almost impossible to avoid being played on in pro soccer if offsides didn't existe as u spelled exist
