A Basketball match has 5 players from each team at a time on the court.

The five-on-five full court game became the standard for women's basketball in 1971. Prior to that, women's basketball often featured different formats, including six-player teams and half-court games. The adoption of the full court format allowed for a more dynamic and competitive style of play. This change was significant in promoting the growth and popularity of women's basketball.
