In basketball, a "cherry pick" is when the opposing team is playing defense and once they gain possession, such as a steal or turnover, they will have a man down at the other end of the court, alone to pass it to, to make the easy basket.
A turnover in basketball means that the basketball is taken by the opposing team. Usually the the way to turnover the ball is by the opposing team to steal the ball. Another way is the team with the basketball goes out of bounds and you turnover the ball.
Whenever a basketball player is dribbling down the court and a defensive player is coming from behind, your teammates/fans yell "wolf" to tell the person with possession of the ball to beware that the defense is about to steal the ball.
in basketball you have to be able to jump and move your body in a way to steal the ball or get it in the basket.
When playing basketball, it is important to conceal the ball from your opponents who would try to steal it from you.
it means that you steal it while the opponent is dribbling

A Steal in basketball is when you stael the ball from your oponent. so if ou either intersept the ball when he is about to shoot or when you grab the ball from him when he is dribling

what skills arent in basketball is a better question. basketball requires multiple different skill sets. i once spoke with a point guard that spent 10 years playing pro basketball in Europe, he told me basketball is 2/3's mental, 1/3 physical. it requires immense knowledge of the court, rules, where you are on the court ect. without this knowledge you are usesless. it also requires quickness, speed, agility, ball handling, shooting, strength, and endurance. It requires also strong trust in your team mates, court vision, and the metal ability to focus in high pressure situations
