∙ 14y agoNo! Don't let anyone tell you there's a weight limit for a sport or anything. It doesn't matter how much you weight, as long as you're good at cheering you'll make the squad. I'm the same height and have weighed between 97-120 pounds in the last 4 years, and have been told by my doctor I've always been at a healthy weight.

It depends on how active the cheering is.

Flying has NOTHING to do with weight. I am 105 and I am a flyer. There are people who are LIGHTER than me that are my base. The reason they aren't flyers is because they aren't balanced and they are too scared. You have to be brave, very balanced, and have confidence in yourself and your base. Your base has to be strong and you have to trust them. It will take some practice to get balance but it helps. Flyrs should NEVER be over weight and should NEVER EVER try to be under weight. It's not worth risking your health to be a flyer.
A judge recently ruled that cheerleading was not a sport. As a fellow cheerleader, I beg to differ. Cheerleading combines gymnastics, dancing, and even weight lifting.
