Offense and Defense. Offense being the team in possesion of the ball.
The two sides of basketball are called offense and defense. On offense the team protects the ball and tries to convert a basket. On defense the team guards the ball and tries to stop the other team from scoring.
The offense is whoever has possession of the ball trying to advance into their opponents endzone. The defense is the team trying to stop them.
In football, the offense is the team in control of the ball moving it toward the opponents goal and attempting to score. There are many different types of football, but in all of them, the offense is the team with the ball trying to score. The defense is: First, the team trying to keep the offense from scoring; And Second, the team trying to get the ball away from the offense. In American and Canadian Football, the offense starts each play with a center snap. the center passes the ball through his legs to a player in the backfield. In British Rugby, the player starts a play by throwing the ball to a player behind him. In European Football (Soccer) Offense and Defense change constantly. A team keeps trying to move the ball down the field and keep a defender from getting it. In basketball, offense and defense also constantly change.
Recieving the ball is when your opponents team has the ball. Recieving is when you want to have a strong defense plan so you can get ball from the other team when they hit it over without them getting a point. Offense= when your team has the ball and you're setting up for an attack. Defense= when your opponents team has the ball and they're setting up for an attack
A defense is the opposite of offense they stop the offense from touchdowns, passes and etc. If the offense fumbles the football they got a ready to recover it. They can also catch a ball called a intercepation.
Well, you need to score runs to win, but one lucky swing can give you a homer. So if you look at it this way, if out of 27 batters, one hits a home run, you're ahead 1-0 if the other team doesn't score, which a good D will prevent. Also, baseball is the only sport in which the DEFENSE controls the ball, so I'd go with defense, if you hold them at zero, you'll eventually score.
if the person got good ball hanlding defense offense and and make shot then they will be a starter
