On a starting line up there is 11 players per team and 5 substitutes.Generally a squad is made up of about 25-30 players. Answer Really as many players as you would like. Or it could depend on the amount allowed on a roster depending on a league. But, there are 11 players on the field during a game so a good amount would probably be around 15.

11 players on the field at a time (10 field players and acx goalkeeper). Most pro teams carry a roster of between 18-30 players, depending upon their budget, size of their Reserves (or 2nd team), etc.
