UConn Huskies is the common name of the University of Connecticut. This University has many sports teams including football and basketball. UConn also has men's and women's hockey teams, golf, and Lacrosse teams.
Connecticut is not known for having a professional sports team. UCONN athletics is the most followed teams out of Connecticut, but there are many development teams stationed there. In baseball they have a minor league team named the Connecticut Tigers. For basketball the only professional team is the Connecticut Sun of the WNBA. And for hockey the most supported team in the state is the Connecticut Whales.

Through 2013, the NCAA men's basketball tournament has been won once (1959) by UC (University of California-Berkeley), which is more commonly known as "California" or "Cal-Berkeley." Another UC (Cincinnati) has won two of these titles (1961 and 1962). Nationally, the school is known more commonly as "Cincinnati," but regionally there are many who refere to it as "UC." Connecticut is commonly called "UConn," both locally and nationally, but it is in fact another "UC." The school has won three men's titles: 1999, 2004 and 2011.
Each team plays 46 games; the total for the season is 552.
The UConn men's basketball team has won 2 national championships coming in 1999 and 2004. The UConn women's basketball team has won 6 national championships. The Huskies won the 2009 national championship in April.
13 times as of 2008
Here's what I found: 1. UCLA has 11 titles (Go Bruins!) 2. Kentucky has 7 titles 3. UNC has 6 titles (including 2005) 4. Indiana has 5 titles 5. Duke has 3 titles 6. Kansas has 2 titles 6. UConn has 2 titles 6. Louisville has 2 titles 6. OK State has 2 titles 6. Cincy has 2 titles 6. San Francisco has 2 titles Another tidbit: UNC and Duke are the closest Division I schools...I think they are 7 miles from each other. UNC's 2005 win makes 5. The "interesting tidbit" above was purely conjecture on the part of the author and not researched at all. Furthermore, it couldn't be further from the truth. Just one example would be The University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University, about 1 mile apart. There are many other examples as well.
Yes Connecticut has many plants?
Connecticut has no deserts.
There are many different regions in Connecticut. There are also many different regions that consider Connecticut to be a part.
There are no states in Connecticut because Connecticut itself is a state.
