As of my last update, there are no NCAA Division I AAA schools. The NCAA operates three divisions: Division I, Division II, and Division III. However, Division I does have different classifications based on the level of football, with FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision) and FCS (Football Championship Subdivision), but there is no Division I AAA classification.
There are 240 NCAA division 3 schools with softball programs.
Currently there are 282 either full or provisional members of Division II.
NCAA Division III is made up of 444 member institutions. It is the largest NCAA division. It has more participants (about 170,000 student-athletes) and number of schools than any other NCAA division. There are 413 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball teams and 434 Women's teams.

There are 303 Division I schools sponsoring Men's Golf as of the 2009-2010 School Year See related links for a list.

There are around 1000 NCAA basketball schools in total, with 351 schools in 32 Division I basketball conferences. There are also other divisions, but only Division I gets shown on TV, and contains most of the players that go into the NBA.
