Box Lacrosse player can all use sticks from 40-46 inches, with the shorter ones being preferred by offensive players and the longer ones by defensive players.
* An attack or midfield stick that is less than 40 inches or more than 42 inches long is an illegal stick.
* A long-stick midfield or d-pole less than 52 inches and more than 72 inches long is illegal.
* If the distance from the top of the head of any stick to the bottom of the stop is less than 10 inches- it is illegal.
* If the width of the top of any stick head is less than 6 ½ inches, it's illegal.
* If the official places a ball in your stick and it doesn't fall out when he tips the stick over, you are in violation.
* If the pocket of your stick sags too low- you got it, you're illegal.

The size of the lacrosse stick depends on which position you play. Different sticks have advantages and disadvantages.
The Short Stick: This stick is used by both middies and attackmen. According to official US Lacrosse Rules, the shaft of the short stick must be 30 inches. The complete stick (head and shaft) must be between 40 and 42 inches.
The Long Stick: The second different size lacrosse stick is the long stick. This stick is used by defenders and long stick middies.
According the the official US Lacrosse regulations, the long stick (including head and shaft) must be between 52 and 72 inches. The shaft is about 60 inches.
The Goalie Stick: The last type of different lacrosse sticks is the goalie stick. This is used only by goalies. Its shaft is about 40 inches long.According to US Lacrosse, the complete goalie stick must be between 52 and 72 inches
