No. Paintball guns at a maximum of 300 feet per second. Most mid grade AEG (automatic electric guns) shoot 350-400 and some spring "sniper" rifles can travel over 500 feet per second, especially with lightweight .12 gram bb's.

yes, very much so the higher the psi you set it at the harder the bolt throws the paintballs so the more air that pushes the paintballs equals more speed. note: by doing that you use up more co2 which is bad so I would suggest getting a longer barrel that way your paintballs fly straiter and faster without having to change your psi settings
Generally, yes. BB guns are more used for rodent killing and target practice. Airsoft guns are used for sport and target practice. Airsoft rifles, unlike BB guns, usually have a full automatic firing mode. An average airsoft rifle will shoot at about 3-400fps (feet per second) while some BB guns can fire over 1000fps. Bottom line, don't shoot other people with a BB gun.
Some Airsoft guns shoot at around 400 fps. All paintball guns are regulated to 280 to 300 fps. Airsoft guns also generally fire more per minute then paintball counterparts, because of the simplicity of the mechanics.
