It depends on how fast the game is being played. If you are considering playing Field Hockey, I would not recommend you to, if you were only concerned about how much running is involved rather than the actual play of the game. It also depends on the position. The halves would probably cover 10-11 km, and the backs doing about 7-8 km. The forwards do less distance, maybe 5-6 km, although more of it is sprinting. The goalkeeper does very little distance, about 2 km, but they do very short, very quick movements around the circle. These are averages for a midgrade team, but international players might do more than twice these distances.

The lengths of field hockey sticks vary. Most common is the 37 inch field hockey stick, which is good for anyone 5'2" and over. The lengths are: 32-38" for older players 24-30" for younger (junior) players. Hope this helps! :)
On the field in a straight line, a ball can only go 106.3 metres before it goes out. In a game, the ball might travel many kilometres in total, and may not go out for much of this. If shot from a large enough airgun, a ball could go forever.
It really depends on the strength of the person hitting the drive. The drive is meant to be the longest hit in field hockey, but each player has their own forte. My slap-shot has a longer distance than my drive, but my friend's drive can go over half the field.
