You will need unbelievable skills, and you will have already been noticed playing college (or, very rarely, high school scoccer) and you probably will have an agent. The air is extremely thin up there. Those who have a shot already know it. If you're coming up, don't worry about anything but skills, both individual and team ones. You have to be the best to play with the best. An agent can only help you with how much you get for playing. He cannot help you with how well you play. That's up to you and your coaches. Good luck.

If they don't sign with the team that drafted them, or otherwise violate their amateur status, they can attend college and play baseball for the college team, then go back into the undrafted player pool the following year. They can also sign with the team that drafted them, play for that team and attend college in the off-season, but they are not eligible to play baseball for their college team, but may play another sport in college such as basketball or football.
