Each team plays eighty two (82) regular season games, for a total of 2,460 games combined. (playoff games NOT included) EACH NHL TEAM PLAYS 80 GAMES IN A SEASON AND THEY PLAY A TOTAL OF 2400 GAMES COMBINED.

As of the 2006-2007 season: Each team in the NHL plays 82 games - 41 at home and 41 on the road. 6 games (3 home, 3 away) are played against each team in the Division (24 games) 4 games (2 home, 2 away) are played against the other teams in the Conference (40 games). 18 games (9 home, 9 away) of the season are interconference games. 3 interconference teams play both a home and away game (In Canada it is always the other Canadian teams, in the USA it rotates every year with the other USA teams). The other 12 interconference teams play only once every season rotating home and away.
