To a degree, yes. The more games played the more people pay to watch the game, the more Hot Dogs and soda they buy, the more programs they buy, in other words, the team makes more money. So, if a team played more games in a season they would make more money, which would mean they could pay their player more. If they played less games they would make less money which would mean they probably would have to pay their players less.
