The worst injuries in the actual sport are broken ankles, and may things associated with athletics. It is when paintball guns are used outside of paintball, things become dangerous. Many people are blinded by paintball "drive-bys" A recorded death was caused by a poorly maintained marker's tank becoming a projectile and breaking his neck during one of these.

It depends on how u play the game but it will never give you more injuries than other sports.

If you play with an appropriate mask and do not shoot above 300 fps in short, no, paintball is actually a n extremely safe sport, if you look at the numbers more people go to the ER every year with a Bowling related injury over a paintball related one, the majority of injuries are from just running around in the woods, sprained ankles for example, something you can get without carrying around a marker and paint .

Welts and bruises normally. Without protection, it can cause blindness and deafness with impact. Best protection is a certified paintball mask and Motocross gear underneath your clothes.
