It can either be called a lift or a carry. Sometimes if the ref thinks that you touched the ball twice in that split second they will hold up two fingers and that basically means a lift or a carry.
Okay, there are about 3 fouls in volleyball: # A carry: when you preform a set, but your arms and palms are facing towards the ceiling. # When your body touches the net # When your foot crosses the serving line
They catch the ball hold it for a while and hit it but have to pass to team members first something like volleyball
You cant hold the ball at all. It is classified as a carry and is a point for the other team. I hope this helped! YOU CAN ONLY HOLD IT WHEN YOY ARE GOING TO SERVE AND YOU CN HOLD IT FOR ONLY 8 SEC.
Netball has 7 players per team: Volleyball has 6 players per team Netball has an unlimited number of ball passes between team members with attempted intercepts from the opposing team: Volleyball has a maximum of 3 ball contacts by one team before the ball must be hit to the opposing team's side of the net. Netball allows holding/carrying the ball: Volleyball does not allow a hold or carry of the ball in play. Netball has the aim of goals (balls thrown through a hoop): Volleyball has the aim of scoring points by returning the ball to the opposing teams side in such as way as to make it difficult for the opposing team to keep the ball in the air or return it. At least some Netball players from both teams are on all areas of the court: Volleyball teams players access only their half of the court on their side of the net which is strung across the court. Netball is a much more similar game to Basketball than volleyball, but has no stepping while holding the ball: only one bounce is permitted, unlike the basketball dribble, restricted player movements depending on the position played, two more players per team, no backboard to the hoop.

A player can bounce the ball as many times as they like while moving, as long as they do not hold the ball for more than three seconds.
A defensive player may hold on to a ball carrier's jersey in an attempt to tackle him. However, if a defensive player holds on the the jersey of an offensive player who does not have the ball, that would be a penalty for holding. Likewise, if an offensive player holds on to a defensive player's jersey, that would also be called holding.
A pass is typically used to get the ball to the setter. you hold out your arms and connect your hands to form a triangle shape. you do not swing your arms, but rather, let the ball come to you.
1.) Indoor has six players whereas Beach has 2 players. 2.) Indoor you can have a set spin when release and it doesn't necessarily count as a carry, but Beach it almost always does. 3.) Beach you can hold onto a set longer than in indoor, though. 4.) And, obviously Beach is played on sand while Indoor is played on a court.
