Smith's Bears lost to the Colts team coached by Tony Dungy, the first African-American head coach to win a Super Bowl. Tomlin's first Super Bowl appearance as a head coach was a victorious one. His Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Arizona Cardinals, 27-23.
