times is New York City, where the event has been held seven times (1943-48 and 1950)-- all in the 1925-built Madison Square Garden on 8th Avenue between 49th and 50th Streets (since demolished following the 1968 construction of the current Madison Square Garden on 7th Avenue between 31st and 33rd Streets).
Kansas City, Missouri has played host the most-- 10 times altogether (1940-42, 1953-55, 1957, 1961, 1964 and 1988). For the first nine of these, the event was hosted at Municipal Auditorium; the 1988 event was in Kemper Arena.
Louisville, Kentucky (1958-59, 1962-63, 1967 and 1969) has played host to the Final Foursix times--each time in Freedom Hall.
