It's been around longer, so more people have watched/played/attended these games. I find it more interesting because I've never even heard of a women's team doing any important things. TO FOLLOW THE ABOVE ANSWER: It's not necesserily importance that comes into the equation, but popularity! Womens rowing teams, gymnastics etc have all done well at the Olympics! Athletes such as Kelly Holmes, double gold medalist at Athens in 2004; or Ellen McArthur who has sailed around the world solo, are all women who should be recognised, and have been for that matter, for what they have achieved! As the twenty first century progresses, the topic of sexism is growing rapidly!

Men are physically made for sports such as running and throwing. Women's bodies are designed to do one thing; bear children and nothing more. Men are designed to hunt and kill stuff. It served us much better in ancient times, though now in our modern and rather twisted world the line between the two sexes is ever blurring, and this is but one example of something left over from a much better time.

Men being stronger than women is why they are generally better, though in running men also have the advantage in that a woman's hips are wider than a mans (child bearing again) and so they cannot run as fast because the hip joint isn't as efficient.

Because it is to be that men are stronger and harder than women.

But really women can be better at sports. Men just think they are a stronger.

Phebus20: They technically are stronger because they have more muscle and are built for sport better (because of the past and evolution). I'm a girl lol dnt think im bein sexist.

A man's body generates hormones such as testosterone in greater quantities making men stronger and faster than women. Even though a woman's body does generate testosterone (the main physical hormone) a man's body generates forty to sixty times as much.

Men are better than woman at sports because they have more stamina than woman and also more energy.
