The founder of the modern Olympic Games was a Frenchman by the name of Pierre de Coubertin, who was born in the French Capital, Paris, in 1863. He was also the President of the International Olympic Committee and remained as an honorary presidednt until his death in 1937, when he passed away in the Swiss city of Geneva.
The man responsible for reviving the modern Olympics was Baron Pierre de Coubertin. He felt that that its revival will promote friendship, fellowship, athletics, and most importantly, peace between nations.
