Impossible to say for sure. USPA has around 30,000 members, some of whom will jump up to a thousand times in a year. Other countries have their own organizations and most countries have military jumpers, too. There are lots of non affiliated drop zones, a few with large membership. There are even a few people who jump out of a friend's plane on weekends without reporting to anyone. So the best you can hope for here is the roughest of guesses.
Uspa reported over five million jumps last year, and they are the largest skydiving organization. Estimate that perhaps 20,000 people are active in USPA and made at least one jump, other countries might have twice that number, all told, so 60,000. Add another 20,000 for military and private, world wide, and that gives 80,000 people who jumped out of an airplane in 2008.
Plus or minus 50,000.

How many people die from cave diving accidents each year compared to skydiving accidents each year? I'd like to know which is more safe... statistically speaking.
The United States Parachute Association reports about 30 fatalities a year, out of an estimated 3 million jumps. Figures from other countries are less reliable due to the lower numbers involved.
Each year about 30 people die in skydiving accidents. However, about 40,000 people die in traffic accidents each year. More information about skydiving safety can be found at http://adventure.howstuffworks.com/skydiving8.htm
i don't know the answer to that but the statistics for the whole globe is 1:100,000 skydivers per year
