All Major League baseball players in1947 were white with the exception of Jackie Robinson and Dan Bankhead of the Brooklyn Dodgers, Hank Thompson and Willard Brown of the St. Louis Browns and Larry Doby of the Cleveland Indians. All of those players joined their teams during the season. Only Robinson started the season with the Dodgers as the only Black player in the Majors.
When, after 162 games, two teams are tied for the division lead, or for the wildcard spot, those two teams, and only those two teams, play a one-game "playoff" to determine which team wins the division or the wildcard spot. It happens less often than you might think.
Wii Sports is the best selling single video game of all time. For sports, it is either Football or Baseball. Those are the main sports people follow that must be it. We do not have great Soccor teams or Rugby. Those are mostly in European parts of the world. We have great Baseball Teams and Football Teams.
Rookie of the Year and the MVP of the yearm he also got inducted into the baseball Hall Of Fame. Those are three of the most highest awards in baseball history some say.
No. I'm pretty sure he likes the Yankees. If he even likes baseball, I'd guess either the Yankees or Phillies because, being from New Jersey, those are typically the baseball teams liked. Though I know people from New Jersey who don't like either of those teams. (like the Red Sox or some other team!)
probably players like Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, and so on have done things that were really special Babe Ruth, the first real home run hitter, at least by todays standards Jakie Robinson, the first Negro Ballplayer that broke the imfamous color barrier, and if he hadnt played and no one else, then we would have guys like Vladimir Guerrero, Manny Ramirez, Alex Rodriguez, Pedro Martinez, Francisco Rodriguez, Bill Hall, Ken Griffey Jr., etc. and without those guys, I'm sure the game would be as exciting as it is now

The number 42 was worn by Jackie Robinson and is retired throughout major league baseball. Only older players, such as Mariano Rivera on the Yankees still wear the number 42 since they wore it before it was retired. This year however for some reason all blue jays are wearing the number 42... I would like to know why :S
A huge chunk of the male players in the pro baseball teams were drafted or enlisted. Therefore the sport was essentially put to bed for the duration of the war. Therefore the female baseball teams were given a tremendous boost. They were able to travel around the country and provide baseball entertainment. There are still many of those women who played on the various teams alive today. Movies have been made about these great women. Gena Davis starred in one and it is a fabulous movie.
There are only 30 teams in the NHL total, 6 of those NHL teams are in Canada and the other 24 are in the United States .
