The Yankees lost Game 7 of the 1926 World Series to the St. Louis Cardinals, losing the Series 4 games to 3. They then swept the next 3 World Series they were in, 1927 against the Pittsburgh Pirates, 1928 against the St. Louis Cardinals, and 1932 against the Chicago Cubs. They lost Game 1 of the 1936 Series against the New York Giants to end the consecutive game winning streak at 12 games.
