Just stay focused and be relaxed. Don't be all worried. If you are calm and focused, you will not lose balance. Trust me. I gave that advice to my best friend, and it helped. A LOT.
A lot of it has to do with spotting. Spotting means you look to one side while turning then you flip you're head to continue looking to the side you are spotting. I suggest looking up spotting on google or something... Other things include lots of practise, good balance and stable take off.
Not necessarily, i know some amazing dancers that arnt the size of poles...but alot of schools are picky.
there isn't really a person who "started" ballet. ballet originated in Italy, moving with catherine de medici to France when she married king Henry II. she introduced her tradition of Ballo, or dance. in the 1700's, king Louis of France became fascinated with ballet. not only did he create the first ballet academy, he also danced in every production of all the dances. that is, until he became too fat. :( :P from there, France slowly began to lose interest, and that's where russia comes in. Russian george balachine brought ballet to America. tada! a brief history of ballet. :)
Yes, but it will be difficult. Many children - either boy or girl - begin young when starting ballet. As they get older, they learn more skills. You would have to start out at a beginning level, and would lose some of these years of experience. A major difficulty is through movement and flexibility. By starting out young, dancer's bodies grow accustomed to certain movements and are more felxible.

Ballet is a good form of exercise. It might help you lose weight but I think you need dedication to do that before or during you take ballet.
You should always seek medical help immediately if you fell as though you have a medical problem. Its always better to be safe than sorry.
