haha so many differences. Ballet: the most structured out of the 3, is the building blocks of almost all dance. It requiers so so much strength, but has the most available jobs, out of them. Jazz: the happy one. well mostly. It's more cheesy, and joyful then the other two, but still demands lots of strength. It's like the dance you see on broadway. It usually contains alot of staight lines. Contemporary: the emo one. kinda, it just shows strong emotions, and is much free-er. if that's a word. I think it's the one that draws in the most male dancers. hope my amazing dance expertese helpped you, sorry bout the crappy spelling though. XP
according to ebiswagg in contemporary dance, when you dance it you dance from the inside and you make it soft and interprets whit the dance. you have to be good in ballet for you to dance the modern jazz, because its mostly your ballet technique you use.
Yes x :) but you can also have contemporary ballet which is a modern version of ballet. x
classical and contemporary ballet
Contemporary ballet is said to have been started by George Balanchine. Baryshnikov was a student of this type of dance.
In contemporary you try to 'challenge the lines of ballet' by this I mean contracting and working in parralell

from ballet, contemporary evolved, to be a good contemporary dancer u need to be ballet trained, modern jazz also developed from ballet.
Contemporary ballet is a mixture of classical ballet with modern dance elements. A strong foundation of ballet is maintained with the addition of new movement that isn't confined to the restrictions of strictly classical ballet.
