most American companies really want high school graduates; however more and more companies are requiring that dancers have gotten a college degreee... the extra four years can really make a difference...Answerit all depends. first it helps to have natural talent. than you have to have good instruction. if you are serious enough you should probably dance at least four times a week and with all that it could still potentally take up to 10 years. the reason it takes so long is so that you can perfect everything. I've been dancing since i was 9 and now I'm 14 and i still plan on dancing at least 4 more years before i join a company.
