You can ask a qualified teacher to assess your technique; it is probably the easiest and most reliable way to go. To check which level you are at they will ask you to perform a few excercises; they may then recommend a class you can attend . If you want to get an even better idea of your competence, you can train for an exam; however these require hours of work to be up to the standard required.

No you don't have to complete Grade 5 ballet to do Intermediate Foundation, you don't even have to be in Grade 5. Hope this helps!
