I don't mean to discourage you or put you down in any way, but the answer is probably no. Ballerinas start their training around the age . of three and work intensively for many years to reach a professional level, and even then many do not make it. I'm also not saying that is impossible for you to become professional ballerina, but you would have to work ridicuosly hard, and even then you would be in competion with girls that have worked and trained their entire lives to become ballerinas, meaning they would have years more practice than you. It takes usually at least ten years just to get on pointe. Now this doesn't mean you still can't join a class, even just for fun, and it is still possible to get fairly good at Ballet too.
Hiya, the comment above is very true but if you are discouraged don't be it is not possible and if you have ever seen the film 'black swan' you will see how Natalie Portman who played the ballet dancer was great at it, she has no doubles in the movie and became that skilled after just 365 days of extremely intense training, if you follow your dream, you can do anything - just about! ;)
Both above are true. I am an aspiring professional contemporary dancer and it is INTENSE. If you absolutely love it, as in cannot imagine a day without it, and you are willing to dedicate your life (I am at the studio 7 days a week for many hours a day) to it, then it may be worth a shot. Ballet especially is extremely competitive and strenuous. at 13 that gives you about 5 years to perfect a technique. It takes about 10 serious years to make a professional dancer out of yourself. (not really counting those first few years of "just for fun") if you do not have the body for ballet, not to sound rude, but it is just fact; dont look the part, won't get it-trust me-- and if u really just started, it would be immensely difficult. Not saying that it hasnt been done, but the coordination and the flawless technique it takes to make it, among many other things, are nearly impossible to reach in 5 years. Especially when adding pointe technique to the equation. Dont lose hope, but also be realistic! if you really love dancing, you can always keep dancing, but a career may be very difficult.
it depends on how natural you are at it when you start and how much and often you stretch and practice.
There are no age limits to start ballet as each studio differs but it is best not to start too early, six is a good age to start at if you want to be a professional ballerina
# Take ballet classes! All ballerinas must start somewhere but the beginning is best to learn the art and technique hidden behind it. Most ballet students begin young but older students have the dream to become a famous ballerina. Starting ballet lessons doesn't mean you can't become a famous professional ballerina it just means you need to work a bit harder to achieve your dream! # Participate in ballet performances and recitals with your dance school to learn how it feels to be on stage in front of a live audience. # Once you know you are confident enough and you have your skills and techniques in a good state join performance companies or ballet companies. NOTE: if you are unsure about companies ask your ballet teacher or even keep participating in all concerts etc and wait for recognition or even a scholarship! # Once you are in a company and performing you are know as a 'professional dance' however it doesn't mean you are famous so keep trying and do your best! TIPS: the moment you say how good you are you stop trying so ALWAYS try and never give up. Do whatever it takes it will be worth it in the end!
She started her professional training at the Charlotte School, in London. Her dancing career at the Royal Ballet began at the age of 13.
You can always start dance. Flexibility is not all that you need to take ballet. If you are determined you may become more flexible if you start dancing.

At least the age of 5.
Yes, if you work really hard in class and outside of class, you have a good teacher, and believe in yourself you can. :)

Depends on your goals. Starting now you're unlikely to become Prima Ballerina, but that doesn'mean that you can't dance.
Ballet is easy to learn if you are good on your feet. The best way to become good at it is if you start to take lessons from a professional or private dance studio.
Any age is a good time to start but if you are 20 it would be very hard to become a professional ballet dancer. If you are just doing it for fun and for exercise that is okay.

You have to lake lessons, studio or private lessons (recommended for best learning) You have to train HARD, about and hour a day if you want to be sucessful. Usually the ballerinas today started when they were very young (For best results start between the ages 3-8). You have to try your best to never take a break or miss a practice, everything counts! When you are older (18+) hopefully you have practiced Ballet for a minimum of 8 yrs. you must get discovered by signing up with a Ballet Company (example: American Ballet Theatre), you may be turned down but never lose hope, come back in a few months and try again, they will be convinced sooner or later! You will start with being in the "Corps de Ballet" Background dancers (Do some research for more info). The Ballerina is the main dancer and center of attention, so you have to go through about 2-3 levels in skill. Hope that answers your question, if you have a dream to become a Ballerina one day-- I hope you try your best!
NO! It's never too late to start dancing! 12 is actually young compared to some prima ballerinas, believe it or not! If you are trying to go pro though, make sure you can go to a good school that can get you up to par in the dancing world. GOOD LUCK!
