If you are referring to professional Baseball, the official season starts from the end of March/beginning of April and the regular season concludes at the end of September/beginning of October. The playoffs will go through the end of October.
Spring training starts for pitchers and catchers in the 3rd week of February and goes until the end of March, right up to the beginning of the Major League season.
The affiliated minor leagues start in mid-April and will go through the end of August. Then players will have the opportunity to join the expanded rosters for the end of September. This is why a minor league player may get his first taste of the Major Leagues during what is called a "September call up."
Other professional leagues, such as the independent leagues usually start in May and play through the end of August/beginning of September.
Baseball can be played year-round, as professional players will play in "Winter Ball" in the U.S. They even may play in another country during the off-season in order to improve their skills by the time spring training starts.
