A Swiss Army knife.
I have carried one for over 40 years now. I use the screwdriver at least as much as the knife and it is no larger than a knife with only a cutting blade.
A Swiss Pocket knife is the best tool you would you can use for everyday carry and it is perfect as a tool for self defence as well.
I'll list price ranges:
About $50-$100- I don't own this knife, but I have heard it is good. Another in this price is the Ka-Bar... I personally dont like it as much. It rusts easily with its carbon steel... I doubt it could take very much abuse... Its a nice stabbing knife though.
100-150- SOG seal team (elite if you want) this is my favorite knife out of every one I own. It can handle ANYTHING... I've struck rocks with the blade at full force: no chipping or dulling! I've done everything to this knife... I've even blowtorched it...
100-300 - A nice benchmade knife.. a good folder is the barrage... Or San Mai trailmaster by coldsteel (If you want to spend a lot - SOG fatcat - VG-10 steel with a titanium handle... HUGE folder.
for a custom knife go with Swamp Rat Knives...
Now ill talk about metals
Titanium- Very brittle- high chance of shattering (makes a good dive knife)
Stainless- I personally dont like it that much b/c it cant hold an edge very well
Vg-10 - In my opinion best steel out there (along w/ aus8) (fatcat)
Aus 8- doesn't rust, can take almost anything, awesome edge retention, bit hard to sharpen though (Seal Team)
Carbon Steel- Rusts quickly, decent edge retention, easy to sharpen. (Ka-Bar USMC Fighting Knife)
Overall, I would go with the seal team... Good price, awesome knife, it can handle everything u need it for and more- even has a hammer base.
Dont buy knives off manufacturers sight unless they're custom made... its a lot more expensive on manufacturers site.
People can buy a Kershaw Scallion knife on the internet. It's a legal knife that is durable, looks great and has a great performance. It's perfect for just anything.
The Best of Nik Kershaw was created in 1993.
The Kershaw Blur has a 3 3/8" blade. Closed, the knife is 4.5" and open it is 7 7/8".
The value of a Kershaw 2210 knife set can vary depending on factors such as its condition, rarity, and included accessories. On average, a new Kershaw 2210 knife set can range from $50 to $100. However, prices can fluctuate based on market demand and availability. It is recommended to check with reputable retailers or online marketplaces for the most up-to-date pricing information.
From what I have heard and my own experience, I think Kershaw is the better of the two. Listed below are links to where you can buy both brands.
A blade flipper is a knob at the back of a knife that you flick down and it opens the knife example kershaw skyline line usally opposite from the blade
Ammo and Attitude - 2011 Motorola Kershaw Treasure Hunt and Knife Throwing Challenge 4-5 was released on: USA: 25 November 2013
You'll want a blade that is flexible but not too flexible, and one that will keep its edge. The Forschner or Kershaw filet knives come highly recommended. Some like CutCo but find it hard to sharpen. For a super sharp knife that holds an edge, try Shun.
The Kershaw 1560 Whirlwind has an MSRP of $85, but you can find it for less elsewhere. It doesn't have the best steel, 440A, and it doesn't have a flipper, but it does use Ken Onion SpeedSafe which is deployed with the thumb stud. There are other Kershaw models that are sold for less than that MSRP and have better handle material. The Whirlwind has glass-filled nylon, but other Kershaws have G10, which is more slip/water/oil resistant.
Matt Kemp and Clayton Kershaw
there are a few good edc options that I know of from experience. I will organize these from best to least favored. 1. benchmade mini griptilian 2. cold steel mini Ak-47 3. kershaw leek (delicate tip) 4. leatherman skeletool. this one has a cool look to it.
