YOU THREW 80.8 IN DISCUS AND YOUR ONLY 13! that's amazing (if its meters I'm guessing it is lol) you must be very strong I'm 11 and i can only throw something like 16 meters!
No one has ever throw 240 in the discus in Tennessee in fact no one has thrown over 200 feet. The TSSAA state record is held by Brett Collins of Jefferson County. 187-10 in 1987. That record my be broken this year or next several good discus throwers in Tennessee this year.
A discus can travel as fast as you spin to throw it. Granted, most people don't throw it more than about 60-70 feet/second, but the really good throwers (Olympic level) throw it between 80-90 feet/second. If you're asking because you want to throw farther, all I can say is make sure you're throwing as fast as possible at 45 degrees.
The Polish tend to put forth good throwers in track and field. They are usually competitive in the shot put, hammer throw, and discus.
27 to 35 m
It depends, if you are still in middle school and throwing the 600 gram, the top prospects throw roughly 50 meters, but if you're in high school and throwing the 800 gram at 14, then probably around 45 meters would be good. If you want to be recruited you need to throw 180 feet minimum, but 60 meters or 200 feet if you want to make it big. I was one of the top u14 throwers in the country by throwing 50 meters, but a good thrower would throw 35-40 at 14 years old. Usually, there are 1 or 2 kids in high school that throw 70 meters, but 60 meters will get you basically anywhere.
Depends on your age. 11-12: 30 meters 13-14: 40 meters Keep in mind turbo jav is the most useless form of javelin there is. Ive seen guys throw turbo javelins 50 meters, but only throw and actual javelin 35 meters. What really matters are the 600 gram and the 800 gram javelins that you throw in hs
Are you a guy? Had a meet today, threw 113. I'd say that's pretty good. But if you are aiming to be on track to throw 200, 130 would be better. If you can manage 125, you might have a good chance on making sectionals (/districts)...depending on your location.
yeah thats very good actually. I’m 13 and I throw about 80ft and I am always top 3 In my meets. I assume u normally score points for ur team.
I am above average but I am a sophomore going into junior year throwing 37 feet. But I think average is mid 20s. but if you are looking to get into this in college for a scholarship , you need to throw 42 ft. good luck
If we can agree that a body will rotate, arm out holding the discus , in a circle that is 1.8 meters wide and the circumference therefore is 5.60 meters. A good discus thrower will stretch, making the circle larger and achieving more speed. The speed of the last rotation, before the throw, will be within one second, or one second at the most, that is 5.60 meters in one second. 5.60 meters in equal to a little over 20 kms per hour. Depending on the stature of the person and the degree of development, another 2 or 3 tenths of a second in additional speed may be achieved, thus adding to the release speed.
