Sports can help your mental being because through playing sports, your self-esteem can be raised. Self-esteem is a very important asset to your mental being in health. Sports also can help relieve depression because it gives you a workout to possibly work all the stress out of you, and makes you feel better.

Sports are a great way to get some fresh air, get in shape, and work with a team. Personally, I love cross-country.

You're out running hard everyday with friends, sweating and breathing together; you're out making connections and establishing relationships that are beneficial. Are you feeling down? You can always count on your team to bring you up. But on a more scientific level, it has been proven that exercise makes you happy(the

release of certain chemicals boost your mood). It's no wonder, too. At the end of a hard day at practice, you're sweaty, tired, worked-out,

and surrounded by a team and coaches who care. You're all in it together, and what could be better?
