From everything I have read it appears that pro sports teams in the US are self governed by their league (NFL, MLB, NBA, etc.) The government only gets involved if there is a claim of game fixing for gambling purposes. It depends on what level you are playing and what country? Like professional Baseball in USA is MLB commissioners office. College would be NCAA & not sure there's smaller colleges Little kids have different like Little League of America but there's no one organization that governs all Of baseball its different for age groups & tallent level & were you live.
