The Olympic games are being passed onto London during the closing ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic games as London are next to host the Olympics in 2012.
Prior to the 1956 Melbourne Olympics - the first to be held in Australia and the first in the southern hemisphere - during the closing ceremony, the athletes marched by nation, just as they did in the Opening Ceremony. In Melbourne, the athletes cam into the stadium together during the closing ceremony. This was to symbolise world unity. (Incidentally, the suggestion to change was made by a young Australian named John Ian Wing.)
In which regard do you mean? Yes they have been on TV for documentaries and music TV programs. They also recently performed during the Olympic Closing Ceremony in Vancouver, (Feb 2010)
Olympic Games ceremonies of the Ancient Olympic Games were an integral part of these Games; the modern Olympic games have opening, closing and medal ceremonies. Some of the elements of the modern ceremonies harken back to the Ancient Games from which the Modern Olympics draw their ancestry. An example of this is the prominence of Greece in both the opening and closing ceremonies. During the 2004 Games, the medal winners received a crown of olive branches, which was a direct reference to the Ancient Games, in which the victor's prize was an olive wreath. The various elements of the ceremonies are mandated by the Olympic Charter and cannot be changed by the host nation. Even the artistic portion of the opening and closing ceremonies must meet the approval of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).The ceremonies have evolved over the centuries. Ancient Games incorporated ceremonies to mark the beginning and ending of each successive game. There are both similarities and differences between the ancient Olympic ceremonies and their modern counterparts. While the presentation of the Games has evolved with improvements in technology and the desire of the host nations to showcase their own artistic expression, the basic events of each ceremony have remained unchanged. The presentation of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies continue to increase in scope, scale and expense with each successive celebration of the Games, but they are still steeped in tradition.
The flame is lit during the opening ceremony. It remains burning throughout the games, and is extinguished during the closing ceremony. This year it's about 17 days for the whole games. There's also the torch relay, which generally starts about 4 or 5 months before the games.poo

During the country parade of the 2012 opening ceremony, the child bearer for each country is carrying a large metallic petal, all 204 of them are brought together at the end of the opening ceremony in the stadium to form the Olympic Cauldron. The Cauldron is then lit by the last of the Olympic Torch relay runner, and the Olympic Flame rests in the Cauldron for the whole duration of the games, after which the Flame is extinguished during the closing ceremony. It looks like a copper funnel.
During a Venda wedding ceremony those in the wedding wear traditional Venda clothing. Venda dances are also performed during the ceremony.
Yes, if you are speaking about the flame that the Torchbearers are carrying. This is lit from the cauldron in Greece and next progresses on the relay. If by chance the flames goes out due to wind, stumble or ? there is always a backup flame (usually carried next to the Torchbearer) to relight the flame. Typically an Olympic Torch Relay representative is nearby in case this happens.
The Olympic Flame was first lit during the opening ceremony of the IX Olympic Games at Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1928. There was a lot lof people there.
