∙ 12y agoThe rings on the Olympic flag stand for the five continents where the games are held.. Europe, Asia, Africa, south america and north america.
The represent North America, South America, Africa, Europe and Asia/Austrailia. I forget which color represents which area, but all the flags of that area have the color of their ring in the flag.
You probably think of the five rings of the Olympics. I've read that the number of the rings means the 5 inhabited continents, but the colour of them was never tied to any continent. The colours were chosen from the colours most frequently appearing in the flags of the different countries.
A Summer Olympics has not been held on the continents of Africa nor South America.
The olympic rings debuted at the 1920 summer Olympics in Antwerp, Belgium.
The Olympic rings symbolize the five continents of the world, as they were recognized in the late 19th century: Africa, America, Asia, Australia, and Europe.
The five rings represent the 5 continents of the world: Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania(including Australia) Blue: Oceania Black: Europe Red: America Yellow: Asia Green: Africa
There is no specific corresponding continent towards each of the rings. One or more of the 5 colours (blue, red, black, yellow and green)are included in each of the flags that participate in the Olympics.
